The Mets May Have Found Something In Daniel Zamora

Image
Remember when  Josh Smoker  was looking like a promising reliever for the Mets? Ah, mediocre times, mediocre times indeed. When they decided to pull the plug on the Smoker experiment last winter, they traded him in what felt like an awfully quiet one. The return we got for him didn't seem too significant at the time, as we traded for a then 24 year old (and rarely covered) reliever named  Daniel Zamora .

It's Brandon Nimmo's Turn To Adjust

Image
Courtesy of Off The Bench Baseball    When Brandon Nimmo emerged as a surprise hit, it seemed like he was never gonna slow down. Not only did his mainstream stats look great, but his peripherals and process seemed to check out as well (hit more fly balls with authority, great exit velocity and never chased outside the zone). As a result, he was putting smiles on the faces of Mets fans, and had even more reason to smile himself (as he always does). This all peaked on June 24th, when Nimmo had a wRC+ of 166. The next day, Nimmo got hit by a pitch on his right pinkie finger, and he hasn't been the same.

Kevin Plawecki Is Figuring It Out

Image
Image Courtesy of ESPN     In a season where very little has gone right for the Mets, it has been difficult to find interesting topics to discuss (because, ya know, the whole "this team is bad" thing has been beaten to death for a while now). What has been interesting though, is that Kevin Plawecki has seemingly been figuring it out as of late.

Thor Needs to Start Bringing The Hammer

Courtesy of The Cycle    I would love to talk about about how Noah Syndergaard just went on the DL with of all things, a hand mouth & foot infection (it still sounds made up), but there's not much that hasn't already been said. What I can say is that there are some adjustments I think the self-proclaimed Thor can make in order to fully tap into his ace potential.

Scouting the Mets Return for Jeurys Familia

Courtesy of NY Post    So it's official, the Mets are sellers. With the trade of Jeurys Familia to the Oakland A's, the Mets got  two minor leaguers (infielder Will Toffey and right-handed pitcher Bobby Wahl ) along with $1 million in international spending money.

Two Potential Trade Candidates For Asdrubal Cabrera

Image from CBS    We all know that this season is down in the tubes for the Mets. Thats why the best thing the team can do is get the most they can for the assets they have that don't fit within their timeline.

The Mets Should Trade For Ken Giles

Courtesy of Houston Chronicle This may not be the move that has Mets fans salivating, and there are a few drawbacks here, but trading for Ken Giles can be a great move for the Mets to make.
